Privacy Policy

The short version: This site doesn't use tracking cookies, analytics services, or advertising. Prints and other merchandise are sold through our Shopify shop, which collects and secures your order and payment details under its own privacy policy — we never see or store your card data. For original works and direct correspondence, we collect only what we need to reply to you and fulfill your order.
What We Collect
Website visitors: We don't collect personal information from casual visitors. No analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no cookies except for essential functionality (like remembering your dark mode preference, which is stored locally in your browser). We deliberately do not load our newsletter provider's tracking script.
Newsletter subscribers: If you choose to enter your email address in the "Stay in touch" form on the contact page, that address is sent to MailerLite, which hosts our mailing list. We collect nothing else — no name, no location, no tracking. You'll receive a confirmation email; if you don't confirm, nothing further is sent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately. Nothing on the site requires you to subscribe: the portfolio PDF, prices, and all artwork are available without giving us an address.
Shop customers: Prints and merchandise are sold through our online shop at shop.haslun.studio, which runs on Shopify. When you order there, the information you provide is collected and processed by Shopify and its payment providers under their own privacy policies:
- Name and email address
- Shipping address (for physical deliveries)
- Payment information (processed by Shopify's payment providers — we don't receive or store card numbers)
We receive only the order and shipping information necessary to fulfill your purchase.
Original works & inquiries: When you inquire about or buy an original painting directly, or otherwise contact us, we collect the information needed to respond and fulfill the sale — typically your name, email address, and mailing address.
How We Use Your Information
- To fulfill orders: Shipping artwork, sending confirmations, and (for limited editions) providing certificates of authenticity
- To communicate: Order updates and, rarely and only with your consent, announcements about new work
- To process payments: Handled securely through Shopify and its payment providers
We do not use personal data to evaluate, rank, or profile customers.
What We Don't Do
- Sell or rent your personal information to anyone
- Use tracking or analytics services
- Send marketing emails without your consent
- Share your information with advertisers
- Use your data for profiling or targeted advertising
Third-Party Services
Shopify: Our online shop, checkout, and payment processing run on Shopify. Information you provide at checkout is handled under Shopify's Privacy Policy.
Print & merchandise labs: Orders are produced and fulfilled by third-party labs (such as theprintspace / creativehub for fine-art prints) connected to the shop. They receive the information needed to produce and ship your order, subject to their own policies.
MailerLite: Our newsletter list is hosted by MailerLite, which stores subscriber email addresses and records of what was sent. It acts as a data processor on our behalf under its Privacy Policy. We use only its form endpoint — we do not embed its tracking or pop-up script on this site.
Email: Transactional emails (such as order confirmations) are sent through third-party email service providers.
Data Retention
We keep order and correspondence records only as long as needed to fulfill your order, meet tax and accounting obligations, and maintain ordinary business records — after which we delete or anonymize them. Order information collected through the shop is retained by Shopify under its own policies. Newsletter subscribers are retained by MailerLite until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Your Rights
You can request:
- A copy of the personal data we hold directly
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of the information we hold directly about you
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing of your personal data. Information collected through the shop is subject to Shopify's privacy policy and the data controls it provides.

Security
Prints and merchandise are sold through Shopify, which handles checkout and payment on PCI-compliant infrastructure; payment data never touches our servers. For direct sales and correspondence, we limit the information we collect and retain, and store it securely.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update this page and note the date. We won't materially reduce your privacy protections without notice.
